How can I connect my Gateway to my TV?
I can't figure out a way to connect my Gateway to my TV at all, I have a Gateway M series 6320 and my tv is alittle old it's a Philips tv it has front and back input connectors but when I connect the VGA to my laptop then to my TV the laptop says the display is connected however all I see is a black screen with lines. The male jack does bring in the audio though. What am I doing wrong or missing? I also have a converter box from the government and a dvd player and ps2 so maybe someone can shed some light.
My cables:
Laptop VGA to TV S-Video RCA AV 3 Adapter Cable Cord
2M 3.5mm stereo Male jack to twin phono/RCA cable/lead
You have to change your display settings. Try 640 x 480 as a start. Also check the vertical refresh rate (or frame rate). It should be 60hz interlaced, or just 30hz.
