Power Supply 8800gt?
im getting a coolermaster extreme 650watt or a antec trio 550watt for my 8800gt
but one question is coolermaster a loud power supply it says it 35db and the antec is 28db , is 35db loud ?
Get the Antec 550W, it is based on seasonic OEM and will be much better / reliable / quieter than the cooler master and actually more powerful because it is properly rated. Compare the labels:
Antec TP3-550

Cooler Master RP-650-PCAR
http://images10.newegg.com/NeweggImage/productimage/17-171-014-03.jpg
Note the Antec states three +12v rails @ 18A max each but 42A combined total max. The Cooler Master only has the per-rail max, and no combined total at all. Even at the impossible max of 36A the cooler master will overheat and shut down while the antec is not even close to max. The CM may have higher +5v and +3.3v but most modern PCs need the +12v (unless you have dozens of HDD / CD / DVD / USB devices on your PC that is
So the Antec would be my personal choice and plenty of power to handle the 8800gt. It would actually be an upgrade for me, I am running my Opteron 175 & 8800GTS on an older Antec TP2-480 with a +12v@33A combined max for just over a year and no problems. I would love to have the seasonic OEM based one but my channel-well OEM TP2 is just fine.
cheers
edit: would you believe, of all places Circuit City has the Antec TP3-650 for $105 and free shipping!
